Obituary: Lorraine Marie Orlando Gordon, 81, of Monroe
Apr 20, 2018Vincent's Medical Center with her grandchildren by her side. Lorraine was born in White Plains, New York on March 25, 1937 to the late Andrew and Philomena Orlando. Following the death of her mother, Lorraine was raised by her stepmother Vincenza Orlando.Before moving to Connecticut in 1958 Lorraine worked at The Reporter Dispatch in White Plains, NY. She resided most of her life in Easton and Monroe before moving to St. Joseph's Center of Trumbull in 2012. Lorraine enjoyed crocheting, baking, celebrating holidays, dining out and yearly trips to Maine, Pennsylvania and Florida. She especially looked forward to the annual Orlando Family Reunion each August in Pennsylvania. Her happiest times were with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her three children, Lori Gordon, John Gordon, Patricia Hawley and husband John all of Monroe, four grandchildren, Heather Haversat and husband Tyler, Danielle Hawley, Stephanie Hawley and fiancé Stephen Fedorko, David Hawley, two great granddaughters Amelia and Madelyn Haversat, three nieces, four nephews, numerous cousins, former husband David Gordon and wife Rosalba.In addition to her parents, Lorraine was pre-deceased by her grandson Jay Paul Gordon and brothers Joseph and Mario Orlando.The family would also wish to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at St. Joseph's Center especially Roseanne, Valentina, Edna, Leroy, Carmen and Sharon for the kind care of Lorraine over the past several years.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Parish, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, 500 Moose Hill Road, Monroe. Friends may call prior to the Mass on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Spadaccino and Leo P.
